Sesi Fellowship and Skill Hub is a womxn-led and youth-led organisation operating in South Africa and targeting the adolescent girl child and womxn from all walks of life. It was formed in June 2019 and formally registered in Januray 2020.
The aim of the organisation is to address the lack of all-round mentorship that exists in South Africa for adolescent girl children and to invest in professional and informal skill building of womxn so that they can compete successfully in the job market and to access socio-economic opportunities. Additionally, we also aim to drive a gender mission that advances gender equality through advocacy and campaigning. The organisation is a hybrid of a Fellowship, Skill Hub and a Gender Mission aspect. Professional and informal skills including sports, public speaking, computer skills, entrepreneurial skills, digital skills, agricultural skills, coding, etc. Sesi Gender Mission uses advocacy and campaigning to advance gender equality and justice in all areas affecting adolescent girl child and womxn (inclusive of non-conforming individuals).
